25 Days of Christmas – Simple Card Making
Handmade cards can carry a little of your personality. Just the thought of you taking your time to create a card to give to someone is very meaningful.
Here are some easy to make from a one sheet 12×12 patterned paper which create 8 cards. I also used one deep red card stock paper, vellum paper and stamps to complete the card. I used white card stock paper cut in 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scoring at 4 1/4 to fold.
To create the red border look, cut the deep red paper 1/4 larger than the patterned paper. If you want to center the pattern paper, cut the deep red card stock paper 1/2 larger than the patterned paper. This way, you can have the border around.
I did a little experiment using the vellum. Covering the whole patterned paper with the vellum. Two things to take note, put the adhesive in the corner as discreet as possible and the ink takes longer to dry on the vellum paper so make sure it is dry before you pile the cards up.
When stamping, generously load the stamp with the ink when using gold ink. When using darker color, do not load too much or too less, just enough. As you can see when loading too much, it can cause spots but when it is less, it can cause some spaces.
These cards are great to make to give away. You can also create a card set with this idea of using one patterned paper.
I always wanted to try to create a card set from one patterned paper but I didn’t want to take too much time on making them. These cards are quick and easy. I hope you try to create some cards and share with us.
