25 Days of Christmas – Holiday Lettering on Black Paper
This is a great idea for handmade cards for the Holidays to give out.
For the Happy Holidays, I used lower case letters. To do lettering, write out the words first and double the down strokes to make the lines thicker. To make the curves, you need to relax your hand and let the pen flow. As you can see, I hold the pen too tight when drawing the decorative curves.
For the Season Greetings, I doubled the down stroke but left the inside empty for stippling. Inside the downstroke, I drew the line close together from the bottom. As I move up, I leave more spaces between the lines. After I finish the words, I added decorative lines and randomly drew snowflakes.
Dots add more characteristics on the piece. They give a little shine and definition. The last one I created for the Merry Christmas,I allowed my hand to freely flow on the paper and completed the lettering with randomly placed decorative curvy lines and dots.
I used black card stock and cut them to size.
Pentel Metallic Gel Pen (silver)
Gelly Roll 08
These are great for cards or just as signs you can display framed or on a small easel.
I hope you guys are inspired to create your own hand lettering pieces for the holiday season and share them with your friends and family.
