Valentine’s Day Card to Thy Love’
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and I would like to share with you a technique in making cards with hearts. I learned this technique among friends, while in elementary school, when we were creating our own stationery sets to exchange with.
To start, you’ll have to cut different sizes hearts as stencils.
I have used crayons, color pencils and/or oil pastels. Oil pastels are a little more messier. Color pencils might take a little more pressure. Crayons is your best bet to begin with. Here I am using oil pastels. Choose whatever color you would like and color the edge of the hearts.
Now arrange them on a card or stationery that you want.
Use your fingers to keep them in place and start smudging, pushing the colors out of the stencils and unto the card.
Remove the heart that you finished smudging to avoid having to keep holding them down.
If you want to add some sentiment, I use this calligraphy pen to write on the card.
Or you can just cover the card with hearts with different colors.
I’ve always enjoyed making these and seeing how the hearts are formed with this technique.
I write my love letters in a stationery but I will be inserting the letter in the card. Some stationery comes scented but if they are not I like to indirectly spray a little perfume on them. It gives the receiver additional impressions and it adds more drama and romance. Something they can feel.
Until next time.
To never ending adventures…
