Here is an idea for party decoration. Tassel garland is easy to make using strings, tape and tissue paper. Oh! Make sure you have scissors. You will need them to make the fringes.
When you open up a tissue paper you will see the crease lines. Use this as your guide to where you want to cut. You can use up to three layers, any more than that and it might become harder for you to cut.
Now fold down from the crease. You should have about 10″ height and 5″ width. Now fold that in half.
Folding in half will allow you to cut the middle therefore saving some time.
Now cut up to about 9″ leaving about an inch uncut.
Now open up the paper and cut in the middle. Separating them will add volume by using less paper.
Roll one piece each and place two of them next to each other.
Wrap the two with tape and add a 3″ thread creating a loop.
Take this and wrap one piece around the two piece covering the ends and other imperfections of the tape. Secure the last wrap with the tape.
I created two different shades and arranged them alternating the colors.
I cut about 96″ inches of string and strung it thru 6 tassels.
In every 12 inches, pinch the string with the garland. This will help you keep the spot where you want the tassel to be on the garland. Create a loop large enough for the garland to go thru and carefully pull the garland thru the loop.
Decorate the party by either putting them separately or layering them together.
Until next time…
