I decided to go see the newly renovated public library the other day and it was like seeing an old friend. Just by looking at the books arranged on the shelves makes me want to stay there and read all day. Call me old fashion, but I feel that having the actual book in my hand is more fulfilling.
Now I would like to share with you one of many ideas on how to make a bookmark. This is laminated without using a laminating machine.
All you need are scissors, clear scotch tapes, and cardstock paper or one of these patterned paper use for scrapbooking.
Cut 5″ x 1 1/2″ using a scissor. You can also use a paper trimmer if you have one available.
Take the clear scotch tape and tape across the paper the long way leaving extra tape on all three sides. Then take another strip and tape across beyond the paper and just a little over the first strip. Continue until you reach the other end. The paper should now be taped on the surface of your work space. It is best that this step is done on a clean surface and where you can easily pull the tape easily and clean.
Peel the tape and make sure you are pulling the paper along with the tape. Turn the paper around and repeat the steps.
Now cut the edges of the tape as close as you can to the paper but not all the way.
Now you are finished with laminating your bookmark. You can leave this as is or you can add a tassel.
